Good new for commuters, Sony Ericsson has launched the W395 Walkman handset, throwing in a pair of powerful stereo speakers able to reach all corners on the bus.
This is Sony Ericsson ‘putting youth at the forefront’ – just as long as the youth concerned likes music. Indeed, this sleek slider isn’t bad if that’s your prime interest, packing in the Walkman-branded media player, dedicated music keys, an FM radio, equaliser, 1GB of storage (via an included card), TrackID to track down a tune and PlayNow for downloading ‘entertainment’, which is wallpaper, ringtones and themes rather than anything mind blowing.
Aside from that, there’s not a lot. The 2 megapixel camera looks a bit last year (or even the year before), Bluetooth is there, not to mention Motion Gaming and a reasonable 2-inch screen. But despite the looks, this is essentially a glorified entry-level phone. Not quite pocket money, but certainly available with a few weeks saving or moaning to the old folks. Look out for the Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman in the next couple of months. Then again, you’ll probably hear it first.
